LG Electronics achieved a record-breaking financial performance in the second quarter, driven by strong demand for its home appliances, vehicle components, and HVAC systems. The company announced preliminary operating profits of 1.58 trillion won ($1.04 billion), marking an impressive 146.9% increase compared to the same period last year. Additionally, revenue surged by 14.9% to reach 23.83 trillion won, exceeding market forecasts.
Throughout the first half of the year, LG Electronics reported a total revenue of 47.56 trillion won and an operating profit of 3.25 trillion won, both record highs for the company. These outstanding results were bolstered by heightened sales across key sectors, cost-efficiency improvements, and the expansion of subscription services. The company also saw growth in its webOS platform and experienced a rise in online sales.
The home appliance, vehicle solutions, and HVAC segments were crucial in driving LG’s growth. The company saw increased demand for premium home appliances and automotive infotainment systems, particularly amid heatwaves in Europe that spurred interest in cooling solutions. This uptick in demand significantly contributed to LG’s strong quarterly performance.
LG Electronics emphasized its ongoing commitment to invest in future growth areas, including AI data center cooling technologies and advanced robotics components. These investments are part of the company’s strategy to maintain its competitive edge and capitalize on emerging market opportunities.
